The San Joaquin Valley in California is one of the most culturally diverse regions in the United States. It has some of the richest agricultural land and poorest communities. These are some of their stories.
Injecting drug use poses many risks, including the spread of diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C. Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies to meet people where they are at to reduce the negative consequences of drug use. This is my research in this area.
What would it look like to understand our gender and sexual identities as non-binary, non-essential, and socially constructed? How could this have an influence on how we work with individuals, groups, and communities as helping professionals? This is my research in the area and information on events I have organized.
Decolonizing social work challenges us to return to social work’s activist roots. This is my research and the Integrative Healing and Decolonization Retreat Series that I organize.

Never have we been so interconnected across the planet and yet so disconnected about our distinct realities. This is my European research on migration and diversity.
